Dental crowns and bridges can make your smile more beautiful and functional. We combine art and science to provide our patients with the most aesthetically pleasing dental restorations. Once you reclaim your smile, your self-esteem will improve, and you’ll look forward to going out again.

You can finally eat your favorite foods without worrying about gaps in your smile or pain when you bite down. So, when you’re ready to reclaim your confidence, consider crowns and bridges from our Kalamazoo dental office.

Dental Crowns Cover and Protect

A dental crown is a cap that covers your entire tooth. We use dental crowns for several reasons, including the following:

  • Protection — Crowns protect decayed or broken teeth.
  • Restoration — When a composite dental filling isn't enough, crowns restore teeth to their natural size, shape, and strength.
  • Aesthetics — Crowns can cover discolored or misshapen teeth. Our dental office offers crowns as a cosmetic option in addition to preventive dentistry.
  • Bridge attachment — Crowns are used on either side of a dental bridge for support.

Dental Bridges Close the Gap in Your Smile

A dental bridge is a common tooth replacement option that uses artificial teeth supported by dental crowns or implants to give you a seamless smile.

A dental bridge provides several benefits, such as restored function, enhanced appearance, better speech, and tooth stability.

What Do the Procedures Entail?

If you need dental treatment, we start with a consultation to determine your dental needs. Here’s what you can expect from the two dental procedures:

  1. Preparation — The first step is to prepare your teeth. For crowns, we remove a small amount of tooth enamel from the affected tooth. For bridges, we do the same thing, only we prepare the teeth on either side of your missing teeth.
  2. Impressions — Next, we take impressions to create your custom restoration.
  3. Temporary restorations — While the dental lab creates your restoration, we place temporary restorations to protect your teeth.
  4. Placement and adjustments — We will bond your crown or bridge into place and check your bite and alignment.
